Montana Day 4

We headed out to the park today for some hiking. We spent the day in the Two Medicine area since we had a boat tour there in the afternoon. We found a few really nice hikes in the area. We first visited Running Eagle falls which was a very short hike with a great payoff.

Then we got some views of the lake

And then off to a four mile hike to aster falls and a aster point

After that we took the boat to twin falls for an easy two mile hike.

Montana Day 3

Last big day of driving! We stopped in Great Falls for a break and had lunch and did some waterfall viewing. I think the dams take away from the natural beauty but I’m sure we see plenty of better scenery when we get to Glacier!

Then it was on to the west glacier KOA where we upgraded to a cabin!

Montana Day 2

We actually did make it to Montana on  day 2 and stayed the night at the Billings KOA.  Again we had a pleasant and convenient tent spot a d the campground was along the Yellowstone River which was really pretty. I didn’t bring my phone for our river walk so I just snagged this one from Jerry.

Montana Day 1

So actually we only made it to South Dakota the first day. We stayed the night in Mitchell so we got to view the world famous corn palace

Speaking of corn we stopped in a middle of nowhere place in Iowa at this super cute place where we had an amazing lunch. Definitely recommend. Big portions and good prices too.

Since we decided it was too far to want to drive the camper we did some tent camping. The campground was nice and convenient. Our spot was very shady and private.

Side note. Turn off the lights at bedtime or the tent will have approximately one million bugs on it in the morning.

A few more updates

Silas went off to his official foster home and Coda had a meet and greet this week but I have t heard anything about what they decided. But he continues  to do well and make progress on his issues.

Sweets had a greet cardio check up, his condition has remained stable and he has no restrictions and doesn’t need to go back for another year. He also had his first birthday!

The horses got groomed and painted!

Epic went to an agility trial. Not a ton of Qs but some really awesome stuff and we know what to work on.

And we got this fancy new leash!

Marbles thinks it’s too hot

Next up, vacation posts!

Pupdates

Coda is making a lot of progress with  his anxiety but I still need to keep working on that as well as his leash skills.

This cutie is Silas a s he’s staying with us a bit until his foster is ready.

Sweets is learning some agility and wanted to show off.

Actual camping

Last weekend we took the camper out to arkansas just to spend the weekend. The campground was quiet and the lake was really pretty. It was our first time taking Sweets and the boys had a great time. Bringing the big ex-pen was a lifesaver and we already have ordered a second set so we can have a nice big yard from them and we could even set our chairs in as well if we wanted.

Sweets got to work in his swimming and overall they seemed to enjoy the water.

We also went on a hike they enjoyed that as well. The spring we hiked to was quiet and pretty and a good resting point before we hiked back.

And here’s a pic from a short trail near the campground. It took forever to get them both looking cute at the same time.

And here is some adorable from the ride home, before the truck broke down. Yes the truck broke down on the way home. We were able to limp into a Walmart parking lot, make arrangements to get the truck looked at and have a friend drive us all home. It ended up just being a radiator which wasn’t too bad all things considered. We were able to pick everything up the next day and hope for no more issues!

Agility updates

We spend the last few weekends doing agility things.  The first weekend we attended a distance seminar and learned a lot.  I've not any professional coaching, and certainly none of this caliber in years so it was good for me and Epic both.

The next weekend we returned and trialed for three days.  Epic had a decent weekend getting 8 Qs, finishing his elite jumpers and open touch and go and getting all his points for champs!  In other news Coda has been working hard getting ready to be adopted and Sweets is now mature enough to be out of his crate during the day when Jerry works from home.  This makes for slightly more peaceful evenings!
