Festivals and fall fun

We started the morning at the Fair Grove Heritage Festival, complete with chainsaw carving, cheesecake on a stick and kettle corn.  Then we spend a little time at the local botanical gardens and park enjoying the sights and the weather and taking turns with the camera.

Sometimes it's hard to tell who the kids are.

These butterflies were released while we were there and have tracking tags.

Fall and Halloween crafts

We hit the crafting hard today. Halloween wreath was top of their wish list and I think it turned out cute.
We especially like the spider web.

Ghostly wine bottles also turned out cute.

And we made a few fall crafts with  some of my leftover supplies from last year’s fall extravaganza.

We also attempted these. It may be a Pinterest fail. More info to follow when they dry.

We also have a very creepy skull garden planned. Stay tuned!

Family day!

My parents are in town for the weekend and they came to visit yesterday. Lots of different combinations of family photos were taken.

Then we had a good dinner followed by dessert at the custard place. Although I’m not sure frozen custard was a big hit.

After dinner the girls kept my parents fully entertained with Snapchat filters, videos and photos from back home and a lesson on the extravagance of Pakistani weddings. Fun was had by all.

Progress. Probably.

Riesling was a super good boy the other day. We covered almost two miles in the neighborhood. He was very calm and quiet. The scary trash bag barely got a glance and we covered some new territory as well. So either he was hot and tired, or really learning to be a nice quiet boy.

I’ve also practiced driving the trailer, even got it backed up and parked! And he’s loading and unloading nicely. So we are really pulling it all together.  I think.

Silver dollar city

The girls made their first trip to silver dollar city today. And that was after spending all day yesterday doing volunteer hours outside in the sun and heat. Everyone should be good and tired tonight!

We rode some rides, enjoyed the craft festival and the Wild West show. Overall it was a good day and I think they are looking forward to going back at Christmas.

Model Horse

The camera loves him.

And here’s a cute pic of those ears from behind.

Kid candids

Hansel and Gretel are doing well.  They love treats and attention and playtime in the yard.  Someday we will take them on a big adventure to the pasture.

Pony pics!

Jerry sent me these lazy animal pics while I was out this afternoon.

And lastly we found Dizzy and Twist helping Mariyam with some homework!
