Back to dog sports

Everyone packed their own food and put on a mask and used extra sanitizer and we had a nadac trial this weekend!  Legend got to run a few intro run and went 4/4 like the star that she is.  She even finished a title at more than 14.5 years old!
Epic did great.  He had 9 Qs including two really great run in his first attempt at open regular.  He also got his first Qs in Touch N Go, gambler and chances!  Plus a few open tunnelers. He got a lot of great times and is coming along well.

Here are a few videos and upcoming, and obedience trial we probably aren't ready for! Stay tuned!

Anniversary dinner, the pandemic way

We recently celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary.  We originally planned to spend a weekend at a new resort at lake of the Ozarks but COVID changed that.  So we got take out and had a picnic overlooking Table rock.  The weather and sunset were really nice and we definitely want to do this more.  So much nicer than eating in a restaurant, although we need to order the food closer to when we pick up as it was a bit cold by the time we got settled!

Big kids!

Sundae getting her morning snuggles

Big dogs playing in the yard.  Legend is still holding her own but being a bit finicky about eating lately.

Last week Cheri and I took Legend and Rowan to the river.  Which sounded but Legend kept trying to get in deep water where there was a light current and we had to go and save her twice.  And Rowan keep trying to wander into the woods. So they ended up losing off leash privileges and then going to the car while we relaxed!

Puppies!

Hope is doing much better.  She hangs out in the house and can go out loose (dragging a leash, with supervision) in the fenced yard.  She rarely runs from us in the house anymore and often follows us with interests.  She's not really into attention seeking or cuddles, and still panics a little if you make her do something but overall it's a huge improvement.
The puppies get cuter every day.  They are now 7 weeks old and super smart.  They are catching on to potty training and eating and well and playing.  They have a professional photo shoot tomorrow.  Tempe, Seeley, Hodgins and Wendell are all adoption pending.  Sweets has a heart murmur so his placement is on hold until we go to the cardiologist next month to see what's going on.

Home improvements

We decided to complete our kitchen remodel by getting new countertops. Yes, I did paint them when we got the other new things but it didn't hold up as well this time and so we deiced to go all in.  We have so much countertop space that laminate was really the only thing in our budget but it looks super cool. And we got a nice big new sink and faucet to go with it.

I also decided to refinish out kitchen table with epoxy resin.  Pros-looks super cool and very unique. It's even better in person when you can see the glitter and 3D effects.  Cons-expensive, messy, hard to get perfection.  I did my first pour using the counter top epoxy brand because they also sold the pigments so I just had to get one shipment.  It worked ok but is super thick and didn't self level or allow the colors to run together.  So we ended up blending/spreading with hair dryers which took forever but created great effects.  It didn't dry level or smooth so I had to sand it and then pour another clear coat.  This time I used the table top epoxy brand.  It poured much better and self leveled.  The tricky part is keeping all the bubble popped as it cures, time consuming and almost impossible.  The other challenge is keeping hair and fuzz out of the surface as it dries.  So overall, I'm happy with it, but the imperfections that you can see up close bother me.

I had enough to also to my desk top that got messed up when the cats knocked over some water on it.
