Road to recovery

Icy is doing well.  When we got her home and let her out of the carrier she just started trucking across the room like she was on some sort of mission.  She was not at all impressed with being confined to the large dog kennel though.  She was so unimpressed that we had to move her out of the bedroom so we could sleep!  She is eating pretty well though and her incisions look great.  She's really good about leaving them alone so she has been freed of the evil e-collar.

Last night she got to enjoy some time out of the kennel lounging in front of the space heater-one of her favorite things.  Here she is showing off her embarrassing new hair cut.

I guess she's not too upset about it huh?

Tonight I tried to let her out but she's a bit more active today and jumped up on her cat tree and used the scratching post.  I thought it was a bit too soon for jumping so she's back in the crate.  In a few more days we will recheck her red blood cell count to make sure it's coming back up towards normal.

I don't think that hairdo is going to catch on, but we're awfully glad to hear that you're feeling better.

Glad to hear that Icy is doing well! The pictures remind me of when my kitty Dakota went through his skin stretching surgery. It was such a difficult time for him and us.

She certainly looks very comfy infront of her heater. Animals seem to heal quick. I'd have people running round after me for weeks if I had something like that lol!

that is quite the haircut, LOL. Icy looks good and guess it is a good sign she feels well enough to be too active....although bet she will be happy when she is well enough to be rid of the crate for good. I am so glad to hear she is doing well though!

My Terv Jamie sends his condolences to Icy for her funky hair cut, he has the matching canine version. But we're all happy she's doing so well.

I am so glad that Icy did well! That is a happy ending. And why do we, as vets, wind up with pets with the weirdest problems?
