Surprise!

Meet new foster dog, Abby!

 We weren't actually "on the market" for another foster but her stray hold was up at a nearby animal control facility and she was about to be sent to a kill shelter.  There was nowhere else for her to go so we broke down and took her.  She's not allowed on the new carpet though!

 I think she's about 3-4 years old but hard to tell.  She's very sweet-the kind of dog that leans against you and throws herself at your feet for love.  She did great in the car and for her bath, brushing and de-matting. 

 At first she was a bit intimidated by the other dogs but seems to be relaxing.  Initially I thought she was going to be kind of a lazy girl but turns out she's a total ball freak.  Doesn't seem interested in soft toys yet but had a blast with Legend's big ball. 

 She will probaly make a great famiy pet or therapy dog.  She needs to lose about 10 lbs so not sure yet if she's much of a sports prospect.  I have a hard time thinking this dog was really a "stray."  She really doesn't seem like the type to wander off-she was pretty clearly a pet of some sort judging by her behaviors and condition. 

 But now it looks like we will find her a better home!
